Avatars disappearing?

Posted on: May 12, 2008 9:39 am

I noticed that a lot of Avatars have beautiful women pictured.  I thought at first, this is about sports not women.  Stupid thought, what's wrong with having nice looking women, or for the ladies, nice looking men pictured?  It took me several days and finally I came up with an Avatar that I thoght was good and appropriate.  I used to use a picture of a Saint Bernard, the mascot for the New Orleans Saints with the words SAINTS at the bottom of the logo.  I found a picture of a women in the 1800's (not showing any genitals) pictured and I put my Saint Bernard picture in the background.  It took me a couple of hours to do this.  It keeps disappearing from the Avatar screen.  Is CBS or some kind of censor removing it?  I have not received any sort of messages or warnings.  I want to be appropriate and I believe this Avatar is.  Maybe because it is new it is going away by itself?  I'm wondering if anyone else has had this disappearing Avatar problem? I like a lot of people, I am just trying to have some fun on the CBS website.  If that is inappropriate please let me know.  One more thing, after talking with a new friend in the CBS community I have decided that, yes I am obsessed about these avatars and yes, I probably am crazy.  I deleted this post because I thought what does this really have to do with football?  Maybe nothing, maybe everything, nonetheless, I would like to hear from some of you to see what you think about Avatars in general.

Avatars disappearing?

Your avatar has been taken down again. Sorry that you put in so much work to make it, but you can't have bare breasts in the picture. Nipple = bare breasts. You weren't given a warning this time, but I suspect that you will get one if you put it back up as it was. Hope that clears up any questions. Should you have any more, you can e-mail the admin team via the help center.

Avatars disappearing?

if you like putting avatars of pretty women, that they should not be an animation of bouncing anything, or make sure they cloth covering what is private and with out the legs spread open. These will get banned.

I received the above message from CBS Administration when I queried why they had issued me a warning.  It's about as straight forward of an answer you can get, and from some of the avs I've seen a very conservative answer.

I also experienced "disappearing" avatars and once I was stuck for three months at the 94 rep level in punishment.  Thing is, I was never really sure which avatar got me in trouble.

I think there is a tighter standard for those that post on general boards like me then those that post more often in chat threads like Sexiest Avatar, the Spa, or others that are kind of like a community within the community that tend to use sexy avs a lot.

Avatars disappearing?

Thanks for the replies.  I didn't believe that her nipple showed, sorry.  I also appreciate not getting a warning.  I will not put her back on the net.  By the way, I did get the original picture from a story in the New York times.  I am not on any kind of campaign to show naked women.  I want to publicly thank again "fan" for his encouragement for me to keep this blog on the net.  Thanks to all who replied and fives to everyone.  Go Saints!!!  PS: Guess I'll have to look at pretty women on other peoples Avatars.

Guess I'll have to look at pretty women on other peoples Avatars. No, you can put up a sexy av too.  Just be careful testing the boundries.  You never know what kind of mood the administrator may be in, and some I'm sure are more conservative than others.  lol

Avatars disappearing?

As an artist I have respect for and enjoy seeing the human body when said body is a good example of the beautiful form that is the human body.....however there are boundaries as to how much of the human body should be depicted considering various types of venues such as this site.  As in most instances there have to be standards even though of course the standards vary from individual to individual....I agree with the parameters set forth here by CBS........my tolerance for avatars involving animals being depicted in a disrespectful and vulgar manner is at minus 0 has always been at minus 0 and will always be at minus 0.......although there is no such thing as minus 0 that is how much I refuse to tolerate that which causes animals to be victims.
